ELITE LONG DRIVERS HEADED TO D/FW AREA
FOR LDA'S 2009 TEXAS SHOOTOUT

ROANOKE, TEXAS (May 14, 2009) -- The best of the best in professional long drive, including the two most recent RE/MAX world champions -- Canadian Jamie Sadlowski (2008) and Las Vegas resident Mike Dobbyn (2007) -- are coming to the Dallas/Fort Worth area on June 3-5 for LDA's 2009 Texas Shootout Presented by Toyota of Lewisville.

The Texas Shootout open division champion will pocket $13,000 from a total purse of $55,000. Mitch McDowell (Scottsdale, Ariz.) captured the 2008 event.

The top eight open division qualifiers will go head-to-head in match play rounds at Trophy Club CC (west of D/FW International Airport on Highway 114) on Friday evening, June 5. The open division finals, which take place under the lights, are projected for a 9:30 p.m. conclusion.

A celebrity long drive competition, featuring former Texas Rangers pitcher Kenny Rogers, members of the Dallas Cowboys and sports media personalities including Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket's George Dunham, emcee for the evening, launches the entertainment at 7 p.m.; preceding the celebrity competition from 5-7 p.m. will be an Adangs Golf Demo Day on the Trophy Club CC driving range.

Admission is free.

Proceeds from a pro-am tournament, silent auction and on-site raffle at Trophy Club CC will benefit DFW Center for Autism in Grapevine.

Competition in LDA's 2009 Texas Shootout Presented by Toyota of Lewisville begins on Wednesday morning, June 3, at City Pointe Driving Range in Dallas.

Senior division elimination rounds start at 9 a.m., with match-play finals projected at 11:00 a.m.
Among a field of 12 senior competitors are two legends of the sport, LDA Hall of Fame members Sean "The Beast" Fister and Bobby Wilson.

Open division elimination rounds begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 4 at City Pointe Driving Range.
